History and tradition

The Oak Street Po-Boy Festival began in 2007 as a celebration of New Orleans’ signature sandwich and the historic Oak Street commercial corridor. The 2026 festival is billed as the 18th annual edition, continuing a tradition of restaurant vendors, inventive po-boys, live music, an art market, children’s activities, and neighborhood support.
