WWOZ’s Festing in Place returns October 22 through 25

Four days of concert recordings are coming to WWOZ. The posted schedule includes Allen Toussaint, Irma Thomas, Dr. John and the Neville Brothers.

WWOZ has posted the schedule for Festing in Place, its four-day broadcast of New Orleans music running Thursday, October 22, through Sunday, October 25. Listen on 90.7 FM or through WWOZ’s website.

The official schedule begins at 11 a.m. each day and lists recordings from Jazz Fest, French Quarter Fest, local venues and other performances. These are archived sets, so the artist names are listening plans rather than a lineup for a new in-person concert.

The closing blocks include Allen Toussaint’s 2005 Jazz Fest set on Thursday, Irma Thomas and the Professionals from the 2024 Blues & BBQ Festival on Friday, Dr. John from Jazz Fest 2000 on Saturday, and the Neville Brothers from Jazz Fest 2001 on Sunday.

WWOZ produced the program with the Archive of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation. The station’s event page links to the full downloadable schedule. The sheet was updated October 12 and notes that all times are approximate and subject to change.
