NOCHI opens reservations for Yatai, an Osaka street food pop-up

Student chefs will serve lunch at 725 Howard Avenue beginning November 10. The pop-up has 16 service dates through December 11.

Reservations are open for Yatai, a student-created Osaka street food pop-up opening Tuesday, November 10, at the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute, 725 Howard Avenue. NOCHI announced the fall concept in an October release.

The current pop-up page lists lunch seatings from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 10 through 13, November 17 through 20, December 1 through 4, and December 8 through 11. That is four Tuesday-through-Friday stretches, rather than a restaurant operating every day.

NOCHI’s Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastry Arts students developed the concept as their final project. The menu takes its cue from Osaka’s street food culture, with dishes prepared to order. Proceeds support the school’s scholarship fund.

Use NOCHI’s pop-up page to choose a service date and make a reservation. Parties larger than six should email info@nochi.org, as directed by the school.
