Fried Chicken Festival moves to October 9 to 11 with a changed lineup

The Lakefront festival is moving to next weekend. Nelly and Dillon Francis are out, and there are a few things ticket holders should check.

The National Fried Chicken Festival has a new weekend and a revised music lineup. After a severe weather threat disrupted its original October 2 to 4 dates, organizers moved the New Orleans festival to October 9 to 11 at the Lakefront Arena Festival Grounds, 6801 Franklin Avenue.

Nelly and Dillon Francis will not perform on the rescheduled dates. FOX 8 reports that the two headliners were unavailable for the new weekend.

Who is on the new lineup?

The festival's updated lineup lists Marc Broussard and Shamarr Allen on Friday, October 9. Saturday brings Webbie and Big Freedia with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. Sunday includes 2 Chainz, the Ying Yang Twins, Keri Hilson and A-Trak.

Exact set times are still to come. If you are going for a particular artist, use the current lineup page when planning your visit, since an older poster may show the original headliners.

What happens to your tickets?

Organizers say tickets bought before the date change remain valid for the corresponding day of the new weekend. Friday tickets stay Friday tickets, for example, without any action from the buyer.

The rescheduling FAQ also describes refund and day exchange options for purchases made before the change. An exchange from Friday to Saturday or Sunday requires paying the difference; a Saturday to Sunday exchange does not carry an additional charge.

Tickets purchased after the announcement are final sale, and exchanged tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged again. Check the FAQ's rescheduling section for the rules that apply to your purchase before making a new booking.
