A bar and grill with a working auto body shop behind it is planned for 2229 Hickory Avenue in Harahan. The Body Shop Bar & Grill would take over the former McKinley’s Irish Pub space.
Owners Lori Gremillion, Brad Johnson and Chris Timpone outlined the project in an October 6 interview with What Now New Orleans. They are targeting a soft opening in the middle of October, followed by a December grand opening that would introduce an outdoor music stage.
The plans include a new kitchen, steakburgers and Louisiana dishes, plus mocktails and dirty sodas alongside alcoholic drinks. The automotive work would occupy the rear of the property.

Neither opening has an exact day in the report. The music stage is part of the December plan, so do not assume live shows will start with the soft opening.
